What the heck is TAVA Discovery?

Generally, our users are smart, curious, accomplished, and time starved. TAVA is built to remove the time-sucking, “taskiness” of searching for information, allowing them to focus on their work instead.

Okay. So, what does TAVA do?

Just like when someone decided to put a camera and a music player into a cellphone, TAVA is a mashup of several common software tools; TAVA combines elements of a search engine, bookmark manager, notes application, collaboration tool, and a file directory. 

That sounds confusing! Sort of, until you start using it. Trust me.

With TAVA:

You can search any topic as you typically would. By default, we apply three standard search engines (Google, Bing, and Yahoo!) to bring you results – without ads, I should note. Your search terms and search results are saved and associated with a notebook-based approach we call a “Discovery.”

The Discovery serves as a container that holds your search terms and results, as well as your insights on the topic. Within a given topic’s Discovery, you can curate your results by bookmarking or “snipping” search results. Bookmarks and snips can then be sorted in the Discovery “Workspace” using “Sections,” which are like tabs in a notebook.  Finally, you can add notes and comments to any element of your Discovery.

All Discoveries (and everything with them) are saved in the “Discoveries Directory.” With TAVA, you’ll never lose a search term or that “just right” search result. TAVA has filtering tools so you can find just about anything you’ve captured in the system.

Another important point is that collaboration is built into the heart of TAVA. All Discoveries can be shared with partners or team members who can be issued read-only or read-write access. Available anywhere, anytime: TAVA is a cloud-based platform so you can access your Discoveries from any device anywhere.
